Notice to Parents
Attendance And The Impact On Students’ Grades
Dear Parents:
We cannot stress enough the educational and legal importance of your child attending school at the Griffin Foundation Schools. Simply stated, your child/children cannot learn and be assessed if they are not in school. Attendance has a profound impact on grades and academic achievement.
The Arizona Department of Education defines an excused absence as being an absence due to illness, doctor appointment, bereavement, family emergencies and out-of-school suspensions. if an absence occurs relating to any other term or condition that is not specifically designated herein, the absence shall be counted as unexcused.
Your child/children will receive a “zero” on any work that is missed due to an unexcused absence. In addition, if your child does not attend school on a regular basis, his/her promotion to the next grade may be jeopardized at the end of the school year.
Please make sure that you bring your child to school so that he/she can learn, grow, and reach academic excellence.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Sincerely,
Mr. Griffin
Principal
